Under the authority of the Head of Office and the supervision of the Justice and Legal Cooperation Department, the incumbent will carry out multiple assignments to meet the objectives of assigned components of the Project “Support to the implementation of the judicial reform in Georgia”. For this purpose, the incumbent will support and monitor the implementation of the activities, working closely with counterparts and cooperating with other stakeholders to ensure synergies, in compliance with the Council of Europe rules and regulations.

The incumbent performs the following key duties in compliance with the Council of Europe’s procedures and guidelines and with professionalism, integrity and respect:
- Implements, delivers and follows-up on assigned component activities in accordance with the Project’s Work Plan, in close coordination with the Project Team; assesses activities’ progress and suggests adjustments;
- Provides research and expert advice on assigned components; supports the Project team and short-term consultants with background research in preparation for and during field missions;
- Establishes and maintains close working relations with relevant national stakeholders and regularly reports back to the Senior Project Officer on component activities;
- Informs regularly Senior Project Officer and the Project Team on developments in the field of justice;
- Prepares bi-monthly progress reports for internal review and complies with all related reporting requirements;
- Contributes to the organisation and follow-up of the Project’s Steering Committee meetings;
- Ensures the financial, administrative and procurement compliance in accordance with the Council of Europe rules and procedures;
- Contributes to the efficient functioning of the office, in collaboration with the colleagues and the direct project management;
- Undertakes official journeys in connection with the activities described above.

Qualifications:
- Completed full course of general secondary education and appropriate professional qualifications in Law, Public Administration, international relations or political sciences.
Experience:
- At least three years’ professional experience relating to the implementation of cooperation programmes in the field of justice at the national and/or international level.
Language requirements:
- Very good knowledge of one of the official languages (English);
- Excellent knowledge of Georgian (mother tongue level).
Nationality:
- Nationality of host country or one of the 47 Council of Europe member states.
Age:
- Under 65 years of age at the closing date of the vacancy notice.
Essential:
- Professional and technical expertise
- Relevant experience in assisting with the implementation and the management of international technical cooperation programmes or in national organisations. Experience in the field of justice sector reforms would be an advantage;
- Good knowledge of justice sector institutions and reforms in the country;
