Under the authority of the Head of Office, the incumbent will carry out a variety of administrative assignments in compliance with procedures, guidelines and priorities, with a concern for quality, efficiency, accuracy and confidentiality.
The incumbent performs the following key duties:
- assists the Head of Office in the daily running of the Office;
- ensures the administrative assistance and the organisational support for the activities of the Office, including the organisation of meetings and preparation of files;
- prepares and carries out the practical and logistical organisation of visits, meetings, official journeys and other events;
- participates in meetings and follows up on actions agreed;
- updates and maintains the Office’s agenda and central files;
- receives visitors, answers and filters telephone calls;
- processes and drafts correspondence, documents, presentations and assists in preparing reports;
- participates in the preparation and distribution of reports, documents, briefing notes, newsletters etc;
- co-ordinates input to contributions and correspondence and ensures follow-up;
- [...] ensures the circulation of pertinent information and documents within the Office;
- provides linguistic assistance in translating/summarising texts;
- provides ad hoc interpretation for the Office during meetings;
- prepares, records, checks and follows up different kind of transactions, routine petty expenses, statements, orders, contracts, stocks, etc;
- seeks and collects information, data and documentation;
- provides technical assistance for the on-line publication of communication texts, news items, documents, press releases etc.);
- works in close contact with other internal and/or external counterparts to ensure the co-ordination of all these activities;
- reports to the supervisor on activities in progress and if and when problems occur;
- promotes Council of Europe values internally and externally.

Qualifications:
- At least a completed full course of general secondary education followed by an appropriate professional qualification.
Experience:
- At least three years of relevant administrative experience.
Language requirements:
- Very good knowledge of one of the official language (English or French) and good knowledge of the other.
Nationality:
- This vacancy is open to nationals of Tunisia and to nationals of one of the 47 Council of Europe member states already present in Tunisia.
Age:
- Under 65 years of age at the closing date of the vacancy notice.
